There seems to be a glitch where holos will drop, but not regular rares? For every single set, I have over half the holo cards but zero regular rares, which seems very unlikely.

Hey, you are absolutely right and we are aware of that bug.
It's seems to be a tricky combination of device/android version and planets alignment. While not game-breaking (the cool glasses will help you in the long run) we know this is annoying.
We are working on a version 1.2 which will hopefully fix this as well as updating the card database (gen2?) and other stuffs...
